Sister Karlyn Cauley, inspired by the drawings of the "Spirit World," and by the spirit of the Shakers, has both painted copies of these original Shaker drawings, and has created original works in the tradition of these very early Shaker works. She has exhibited her watercolors extensively in Shaker Historic Museums in New England, Ohio and Kentucky. Several Shaker Villages carry her current reproductions of prints and note cards in their Gift Shops.

Villages updated earlier plans with new buildings and properties, labeling areas owned by the Shaker communities. If fire or natural disasters occurred, they were compensated for the losses that were recorded in their diagrams.
